Kirsty Adams, Energy Bureau Manager, made the transition from Technical Services into Sustainability. She explains the part she plays to ensure effective and responsible energy consumption

Analysing and minimising energy consumption

Kirsty has worked as an Energy Bureau Manager since 2018. In 2020, she made the transition from Technical Services into Sustainability to support customers on their sustainability journey.

Kirsty is so far really enjoying learning more about the commitment ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ clients are making in this space with our help.  ¡°My role is about working with existing clients to analyse and minimise their energy consumption.¡±  Kirsty was quick to point to the data as key in the decision-making process.

¡°It¡¯s all about pre-empting waste and ensuring they are making cost savings wherever they can before it results in a waste of energy or cost.   Take for example a client who is suddenly using lots more water, could this be a leak? Or are clients unnecessarily using energy to heat a building overnight.¡±  

¡°It isn¡¯t just about monitoring energy use; we help source suppliers too and we are seeing more and more clients interested in green energy providers¡±.  

Kirsty pointed out that ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ are leading the way ¡°it¡¯s great to see ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ ensure all our energy is fully sourced from green energy providers¡±

¡°We make sure the invoice validation is all as it should be too ¨C and this can be a challenge, to ensure our clients are paying what they have agreed to pay. I really enjoy making this level of difference to our clients.¡± 

Kirsty enjoys working with more and more clients where Sustainability is high on their agenda.  ¡°Each client is different and it¡¯s great to work with them to understand where they are at on their journey.¡±

When asked why she enjoyed working in Sustainability, Kirsty was quick to answer. ¡°The work is really challenging, and I really enjoy making a difference.  The team is great too ¨C we can all really rely on one another and it¡¯s exciting to see how fast things are starting to happen in Sustainability.¡°
